アップグレードができる/できないで噂のCycloWizですが、
開発元が今週末あたりにアップグレード用のファイルをリリースするとの事です。

発売が間近に迫ったWiikeyですが、セットアップディスクが公開されていて
これを使ってリージョン設定や、読み込み速度を変更できるようです。

オープンソースのModチップでWiipというのがありましたが
もう1つオープンソースなModチップが登場しました。
なんとこちらはすでに必要なパーツのリストや作り方まで
書かれており、見た感じ簡単に作る事ができそうです。

・ Region Free Patcher NTSC To PAL WII
Wiiのディスクイメージのリージョンを変更するツールがいくつが出ています。
これを使えばリージョン無効にできないModチップでも海外版のゲームを起動する事ができます。
ディスクの0x04E000付近の値をいじっているようです。
・WAB-ModCheap Launcher
結構前から出ていましたが、初期のPSP Homebrewで活躍していたWABからすごいツールが。
このプログラムを使えばModチップが無くてもバックアップディスクを起動できるらしいです。
ただし、
Wiiを分解してドライブの基板についてるCN302というチップにケーブルをつなげて
パソコンとつなげて･･･という作業が必要です。

・Wii DVD Tool ISO Loader 0.2
こちらは上に似てますが、PC上にあるディスクイメージを直接Wiiでプレイできるというもの。
もちろんこれも同様に分解してケーブルつないで･･･という作業が必要。
結構いろいろなものが出てきましたね。
GCのときはかなり時間がかかったのになぁ･･･
とりあえず何度もいいますが、これらのModチップは
日本国内では1999年10月の不正競争防止法の改正施行で
輸入販売等が禁止されているので買ってはいけません。
